Dengue fever, also known as Breakbone fever is a mosquito-borne viral disease occurring in tropical and subtropical areas. Less than a Million cases are registered per year in India and 390 million worldwide. Dengue fever is mostly transmitted due to the bite of Aedes mosquito which is infected with a dengue virus. The mosquito is infected usually when it bites a person with dengue virus in their blood. It can’t be transmitted from person to person directly.
Symptoms of Dengue fever
Symptoms which begin usually after four to six days of infection and can last for up to ten days,
- High fever
- Pain behind eyes
- Joint and muscle pain
- Severe headache
Treatment for dengue infection
As per treatment for Dengue infection, there is no specific treatment for Dengue infection, The only treatment is to treat the symptoms If you think you have Dengue, you should immediately go see a physician, get some rest and drink plenty of fluids. Adequate hydration is necessary. How to prevent Dengue fever Stay in well screened houses/rooms. Make sure your house/room is very well covers and protected such that no mosquitos can enter your living space. Make sure there are no mosquitoes. Once you enter your space use a mosquito bat or similar devices to make sure there are no mosquitoes.
Use mosquito repellents. Apply mosquito repellents to your body or use clothing with mosquito repellents already in it. Keep your surroundings clean. Make sure your surroundings are clean and neat. Always keep the water flowing. Stagnant water is the place where mosquitoes tend to breed, so avoid that at all costs.
